Five MSU Students Selected for Diversity in Entrepreneurship Program Summer 2023 Cohort

Five MSU students were selected to join the Conquer Accelerator Diversity in Entrepreneurship (CADE) internship program for the summer 2023 East Lansing cohort, collaborating with startup teams to create a more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem.

EAST LANSING, Mich. –– The Michigan State University (MSU) Research Foundation has announced the participants selected for the Conquer Accelerator Diversity in Entrepreneurship (CADE) internship program. The program aims to increase diversity in entrepreneurship by recruiting underrepresented young professionals to work alongside Conquer Accelerator startup teams. Five MSU students were chosen for the summer 2023 East Lansing cohort:

  • Kimani Williams, an MSU alumnus with a major in pre-med Business-Biopsychology, is working alongside Total Reentry Solutions (TRS).

  • Tanushree Thapar, a third-year international MSU student from New Delhi, India, majoring in Neuroscience and Psychology with a minor in Entrepreneurship & Innovation, is working alongside UniServices.

  • Medha Parappurath, a sophomore at MSU pursuing a degree in finance with a minor in Entrepreneurship & Innovation, is working alongside Stocked.

  • Timothy Earle, a junior at MSU majoring in Computer Engineering, with a minor in Entrepreneurship & Innovation, is working alongside Deepview AI.

  • Madhav Aggarwal, an international freshman at MSU pursuing a degree in Computer Science with minors in Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Business, and Data Science, is working alongside Loopy Products.

The CADE program was established by the MSU Research Foundation in 2020. It has helped start careers for more than 25 individuals, with 90 percent of them representing diverse ethnic backgrounds, and over half identifying as female. Forty percent of past participants have secured continuing roles with a Conquer team or been hired in various other entrepreneurship-related positions.

The CADE program has received high ratings from its participants, with 100 percent of them recommending it to other students. Many interns had little prior experience in entrepreneurship, but the opportunity to take on leadership roles and manage projects effectively motivated them to pursue full-time entrepreneurial endeavors.
