Affiliate Program

As an MSU Research Foundation portfolio company, incubator tenant, or ecosystem partner, you can unlock access to a variety of MSU resources—from library collections and fitness facilities to on‑campus dining.

Program Benefits

Your MSU Library Community Borrowers card will be issued during your first library visit. Cardholders may borrow up to 25 items at a time and access databases from public computers in 1 East, near the reference desk. Unless you have a Net ID, remote access to online resources is not available. For more information, call 517‑353‑8700 or email reachout@msu.edu.

MSU Affiliate members have access to the IM facilities. Memberships are available by day, week, month, or semester.

To purchase a membership for any IM facility:

  • Go in person to the Student Recreation and Wellness Center at 810 Birch Rd, East Lansing, MI, 48823
  • Bring your ID to the Fitness Membership Sales Desk to purchase a pass

Your MSU Affiliate ID card also provides discounts at the Tennis Courts and Forest Akers Golf Course (for the cardholder only). The Affiliate ID cannot be used to purchase sporting event tickets.

Contact the parking office to purchase parking passes.

Affiliate ID holders receive discounts at the MSU Bookstore.

There are dining locations on campus that you can access using your MSU Affiliate Card.

MSU Affiliates with a MSU NetID and active credentials can use eduroam, a secure wireless network available at MSU and thousands of participating universities, research institutions, libraries, and other locations worldwide.

Why connect to eduroam?

  • Secure connection: eduroam uses encrypted, authenticated Wi-Fi rather than an open guest network.
  • Convenient access: After setup, your device can connect automatically whenever eduroam is available.
  • Useful while traveling: Your MSU credentials can provide Wi-Fi access at participating institutions around the world.
  • Consistent experience: You can use the same wireless network at MSU and other eduroam locations without registering for each institution’s guest network.

First-time setup only

Complete these steps only if the device has never previously been configured for eduroam:

  1. On the device you want to configure, open:
    https://cloud.securew2.com/public/21218/eduroam_802.1x/
  2. The setup page should identify your device’s operating system. Confirm that the correct system is selected.
  3. Select the option to join, download, or install the eduroam configuration.
  4. Open the downloaded installer or configuration file and follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. If prompted, enter your MSU credentials.
  6. Approve any requested Wi-Fi profile, certificate, or configuration installation.
  7. When setup is complete, select eduroam from your device’s available Wi-Fi networks.

Your device should then connect automatically whenever eduroam is in range.

Important: If your device already connected successfully to eduroam in the past, you do not need to run the setup process again. Please do not share your MSU password or approve an unexpected authentication request.

How to Get Your Affiliate ID

Your MSU Affiliate ID card is your key to accessing campus facilities, discounts, and other benefits. If you or your employer are an MSU Research Foundation portfolio company, incubator tenant, or strategic partner, accessing your MSU Affiliate Program benefits is simple. Follow these steps to receive your MSU Affiliate Card:

Step 1: Request

Complete this form to begin the Affiliate ID request process.

Step 2: Approve

You will receive an approval email from the MSU Research Foundation team.

Take the email information to Room 170 in the MSU International Building (427 N Shaw Lane) on a weekday between 8:00AM and 4:45PM to get your MSU Affiliate ID card.

The card costs $20 (unless specified otherwise).

Please ensure the card has a number sequence on the back.

Step 3: Activate

Scan both sides of the card and submit through the form below. You will receive an email confirming when your card has been activated, allowing access to facilities and other benefits.
