I am a junior studying entrepreneurship at Michigan State University with a focus in agriculture and food industry management. I am excited to be working collaboratively alongside entrepreneurs. I have gained some experience by volunteering in hospitality, as well as being a leasing agent for my college apartment community. These roles have taught me skills in sales and etiquette in customer service. I am also proficient in adobe creative cloud and enjoy learning more about marketing. Startups have always had a special place in my heart. Growing up, I have witnessed some of the successes and hardships of running a small family-owned business. My parents own a pet care service in Kalamazoo, Michigan. We assist in dog boarding, dog walking, cat sitting, and more. This experience taught me a lot about the importance of customer loyalty and retention. As neighborhood pet care providers, we created personal relationships with our clientele that would set us apart from our competitors. People were able to trust our services and feel at ease leaving their pets in our hands. We live in a world with many big corporations that often overlook the details and focus on the basics. I would like to see more businesses take more initiative in connecting with their target market and finding the needs of their communities.
