Matthew Okoneski

Matt brings extensive life science industry experience to the MSU Research Foundation team, spanning therapeutics, medical devices, and diagnostics. He began his venture capital career at the University of Michigan Biomedical Venture Fund, supporting early-stage life science spinouts, before joining the Foundation in 2021 as a Venture Associate for Red Cedar Ventures. His industry experience includes roles at Medtronic, Boston Scientific, and a diagnostics startup. Matt holds an MS in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Michigan and a BS in Marine Biology and BA in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Matt is a strong advocate for Michigan’s healthcare entrepreneurial and venture ecosystem.
