Anum Mughal
Placemaking Manager
Anum Mughal is a dedicated community builder who believes in the power of entrepreneurship to bring about positive change. As the placemaking manager at the MSU Research Foundation, she is committed to creating a vibrant and inclusive community that connects people, places, and action.
Before joining the Research Foundation, Anum worked with the Lansing Economic Area Partnership, where she gained firsthand experience of the challenges and barriers faced by minorities and created an inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem that provided resources and support to underrepresented entrepreneurs in the Lansing region. Her One and All program, which supports aspiring entrepreneurs, won a gold award from the International Economic Development Council. Anum also developed a blueprint for the opportunity zones investment prospectus and stakeholder network in the Lansing region.
Anum served as the community relations director for the Lansing chapter of Startup Grind. Before coming to the US, Anum owned an apparel boutique in Karachi, Pakistan, while maintaining a career in the corporate sector. She holds a bachelor's degree in business and an MBA in management and marketing. She is a certified mentor program manager and tourist ambassador.
